A collaboration between the Diane-Dufresne Art Center and the Centre SAGAMIE.
The exhibition *Sur le fil rouge* brings together curator Sylvie Lacerte’s favorite works, selected from the rich body of work by artist Marc Séguin. Iconic pieces are displayed alongside more recent—and even previously unseen—creations. Taken as a whole, the collection reveals a practice in which painting becomes a space for resistance and lucidity, and in which the motifs reflect a desire to capture the complexity of reality rather than offer a single, unambiguous interpretation of it.
The proposed exhibition highlights the evolution of a unique artistic approach over the decades, emphasizing both the continuity and the breaks that have marked the artist’s career. By placing these works in dialogue with one another, the exhibition allows visitors to observe how they convincingly affirm the fundamental role of art as a space for critical discourse within contemporary societies.
