Originally from Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Daniel Corbeil lives and works in Montreal and Saint-Alexis des Monts. He holds a MFA from Université du Québec à Montréal. Until 2020, he taught art at Cégep du Vieux-Montréal. His work on the effects of climate change on landscape and architecture has been the subject of various solo exhibitions: Module de survie pour un avenir incertain (Musée régional de Rimouski, MA, Musée d'art, Rouyn-Noranda), Architecture pour le vivant (Plein sud, centre d'exposition en art actuel), Structures végétalisées: une utopie verte? (Maison de l'architecture du Québec), Laboratoire climatique : nouvelles expérimentations (Musée d'art contemporain des Laurentides). The artist has also participated in various group exhibitions focusing environmental issues: Émergences et convergences (Centre Phi, Montréal), and Si petits entre les étoiles, ... (Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec).

Daniel Corbeil has received several grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. Some of his works have been acquired by public collections (Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, Musée régional de Rimouski, Collection Loto-Québec, National Gallery of Canada). In 2018, the éditions Plein sud and the MA Musée d'art de Rouyn-Noranda devoted a monograph to his work over the last twenty years.
