Winners of the Forest Effect project

Center SAGAMIE, Centre Bang and their research forest Laboratoire vivant Km3 are pleased to present the winners of the Effet Forêt project:

Stéphanie Auger and Rafaelle Carrière

Paired with guest artist Faustine Escoffier, the artists will immerse themselves in the forest before creating new works.

Congratulations to the artists!

More details

From August 10 to 22, 2025, the artists will wander, immerse, harvest and learn from the artist mentor and various experts in the Km3 forest at centre Bang. The research will continue from August 10 to 28, 2026 at Centre SAGAMIE, where the artists will be in residence. Here, they will combine digital printing technologies and traditional printmaking techniques with discoveries made in nature.

EFFET FORÊT is first and foremost a meeting of practices and a sharing of Faustine Escoffier's expertise in plants, papermaking and vegetable-based inks. The project will also benefit from the collaboration of experts with diverse knowledge, including several techniques for making plant-based photosensitive films, such as anthotype. Participants will be accompanied by UQAC science researchers from the Centre de recherche sur la Boréalie (CREB), EcoTer and LASEVE laboratories.

This project is intended as a gateway to eco-responsible artistic practice. It responds to the desire to create in harmony with our natural environment, while remaining open to technological advances.

Training

L'Achillée will enrich the experience by offering an in-forest training course on plant picking, to complement the training offered by the guest artist.
