The/my body is my source, my will, my job, my pleasure. From the/my body’s form and feeling, I perform, write, and make images. Skeptical of authenticity and curious in plasticity, I peruse a spectrum of performative modes from unaware, to banal, to brutalist, to expressionistic, to dramatic –the whole usually taking shape as difficult, colorful, and funny. Whatever the medium, I place dissimilar items in sequence, treating their surfaces and the impossible distance between each. I let them be alone, together, and inconclusive. In this way, my work might feel like a story is being told but it is more of a script being practiced.
