Jacynthe Carrier was born in 1982, close to the river at Lévis. For over fifteen years, she has pursued a practice about the living world and the image. Attentive to the tensions that animate and shape our contemporary territories, she creates performances and installations that explore different relationships between the body and the environment, notably via notions of connections, presence and collective gestures. Over the years, her work has been widely recognized and presented in several contexts, primarily in Quebec, but also in Canada and at international exhibitions. Her works are included in several private and museum collections. She lives in Quebec City on the shores of the Akiawenrahk (St-Charles) river.
