François Quévillon’s interdisciplinary practice examines the interactions between environmental matters, social issues and technological developments. Created primarily during residencies and over the course of long-term fieldwork, his work has been presented for over twenty years in exhibitions and events in Quebec and abroad.

Through the application of processes that are sensitive to shifting environmental conditions and human interference, François Quévillon’s devices explore phenomena of the world and perception. In his practice he approaches planetary upheavals and contemporary representations in an at once poetic and critical manner, in particular by focusing on the relationship between algorithms and images. During his residency at Centre Sagamie, he will broaden his research, which combines the evolution of photographic processes and the materiality of the printed image via an installation approach.
